An opportunistic segment
of
anti-capitalist activism is "product attack" groups. These predators
typically operate under the rubric of "consumer protection," or
"public health and safety," but are in fact simply anti-corporate
ideologues who can find something wrong with anything - and bring
substantial foundation funding resources to lobbying, litigating and
regulating against virtually any product. The relationships between attack groups in the anti-product segment are moderately complicated and not too difficult to trace, except in a few cases. Ironically, the non-profit attack groups that scream loudest demanding full disclosure from the for-profit sector are themselves most secretive and invisible to public scrutiny. That is a subject requiring congressional attention. Follow the links for profiles of product attack groups: |
